Mixer Recommendation

Hi Guys,
I know this is not a DBX question but I respect the opinion of the people here so I thought I would throw this out there. I currently have a Mackie DFX-12 DR 260 and a couple QSC Amps... Anyhow I mainly do DJing but do use my equipment for live performances. So when I use the Mackie for music is has good volume. But I used it the other day at a wedding and I had to have the gain maxed on the Mackie and on my amps too. Did a little research and see that this mixer has a problem with low volumes. I am just renting the Mackie so I am going to return it.
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a decent Mixer that is not overly expensive.
Thanks

Please post links for the mixer, amps and speakers that you already have, as this will help us with answering your questions.
As for
That mixer is within \"normal\" output levels. (to put it simply)
What was the mic you used???
Radio or hard wired???
Was there and padding inserted??
As you can see we need more info in order to help you properly diagnose the problem

TOOOOOOOOOO quick for me
Price Range around 300-400 ish around 12 channels is good for me. Features I really don't need anything really important I could use FX though I have had a few bands that like FX that would be it for features.
RMX 1850 HD for the tops and RMX 850 for the sub

Quick questions
1.
Do you run the QSC RMX 850 in brigde mode?? into the YX18S sub
2.
Do you like the YX18S??
the sub is ok. Ask me next week. I have only used it a couple times now I am hoping to get more \"thump\" out of it... I have a fairly large wedding this weekend to do. (well large for me) and I will have a couple days to tweak my set up, I will have access to the place for a day before so lots time to play around.... I mean adjusting. I don't think my neighbors in the condo here likes it when I tune my set up. hehe
