Import PX speaker presets into the 260??

JonnieJonnie Posts: 7
Being that I have a few different setups... both Active and Passive... and the fact that the 260 is a far superior product;

Is there a way to import the speaker presets, specifically the Mackie SWA's and QSC HPR's... into the 260?

    If the speaker presets exist in .dwp form then yes. I suspect they do not. But then active speakers don't NEED speaker tunings. Neither do passive speakers, so I have no idea what you want? Are you looking for a bandpass filter, or crossover settings that will work with your powered speakers. The subs have a crossover point, I'm not sure if it's variable, but you would have to pick some point below the crossover point the sub has built in. The 260 is the far better choice here, and will definately help but you don't need speaker tunings...

    My Active setup is: 2x HPR153 3-way tops and 2x Mackie SWA1501 subs.

    The QSC's sound great on their own, but need a bit more oomph that the subs can provide. Therefore, I'm more-so looking for proper crossover points and where to set the gains on both mains+subs to maximize the performance of both together. Not to mention having the 260 compress/limiting so the speakers aren't overdriven or blown.

    Well after perusing the manual QSC would seem to want a 100 hz crossover. I would think that would be fine. Also I would start with the gain control on the HPR153's at 12 o'clock or -10 DB. They say that @ -15 you could over drive the amp and get clipping, so I'd start there... As for the Sub set the sub at max and use the DR to set the xover frequency, I set a few hz difference, say 96.4hz and the tops @ 102.1 hz, using LR 24 filters, the sub should be able to handle it's own HPF. You will then need to do a gain structure if possible to determine what the clip point is for the speakers. Some adjusting of gains is undoubtedly going to happen, so play some music and balance the system first , then set the limiters.
