Well...it's in, the transformation is complete and I have to tell you I'm BLOWN away! the system, 4 flown OAP T112's over 8 proprietary 18 inch turbo manifolds (think EV s181's), over 2 labsubs. a true 4 way system with the OAP's running stereo. The LABsubs running 27.7 hz to 50 hz, the Turbo's running 50-150 hz, the 12\" in the OAP's running 150 to 1200 hz and the 40x60 horns running 1200 hz up...Total FOH system power,13,450 watts. The system is totally run off the 260, actively...The room 10,000 sq feet (roughly). The main floor of the room is on a concrete slab and a muso friend came up with a worried look on his face and said.. there's a basement under this room right (in question form)... I said no, there is a basement under THAT half.. and I pointed over at the bar...\"why\" I asked... \"Because the floor is MOVING!\" We had just the night before done the install and testing and one of the owners friend had stopped in (they live about 3/4 of a block away) and when they found out we were testing and asked if it had disturbed them they said...\"No, we didn't hear anything, but there was this earthquake like vibration that was kinda cool!\"

The coverage is wonderful... pretty much seamless...Side to side and front to back, with very little comb filtering and if you stand anywhere in the main band room and close your eyes, the speakers DISAPPEAR and you can not localize the source of the sound! Front to back, the sound is very nearly the same, with only a few db down, where before, the sound was about 1/3 down at the back of the room. AMAZING...The sound was so rich and full and the low ''B\" string set the room moving... and I mean MOVING! the floor was moving, anything the wasn't bolted down shook and vibrated... they had to take the bottles off the shelves above the bar (display) because the bartenders wouldn't stand under them! The bottles were dancing around, clanking into each other and the bartenders were convinced would come \"raining\" down on them! It sounded so good I could make micro adjustment on the DBX 160 on the vox and actually HEAR the changes... 80 feet away! Adjustment so subtle that before I wouldn't have EVER hear were all that was necessary! I used the \"Auto EQ How it's SUPPOSED to work\" thread in the FAQ section for final adjustments ( I even use the normal up close method but the center of the room on the ceiling 1/4 inch away max method worked best...!!!!).

The benefit was a HUGE lowering of din on the stage, and in the room, FAR superior bass and overall LESS volume necessary to keep the people and the band happy! A WIN WIN situation! It was such a pleasure to mix on, and there was a good crowd, (many muso's that couldn't BELIEVE the system...) and I was only running about 30%! INSANE! This coupled with the all bi-amped monitor setup run by the 4800 made for a nearly effortless weekend...The auto warmth feature can prove to be too much if your monitors already have huge rich sound which mine apparently do.. I thought they were good before, but HOLY CRAP!

I can't WAIT to play again!

BTW there was one real surprise (well another actually), we run a DJ between sets, and he is in the booth to stage right, and I ran the mix from his board to mine through the snake...and got all sorts of noise.. I finally, after trying every sort of XLR to 1/4\" adaptor.. used those Radio Shack balanced to unbalanced inline transformers (XLRM to 1/4F\") and the sound almost DOUBLED, and quiet as death. I wasn't ready for that!

A MOST satisfying experience! It really CAN be done!

Box one those systems ups and ship it to me.

Are the OAP's flown a pair per side, standard side by side? Any horizontal splaying?

Are you getting one of those \"doesn't seem loud, but I can't hear what you're saying, even when you screem into my ear\" sounds?

The system is really pleasant and no, it will kick your ass... but you can still talk without yelling...the low end is so distortion free and effortless, and it seems as if the system just comes from everywhere...The tops are sitting on a couple shelves and have a natural 60 deg angle cabinet which allows seamless integration without comb filtering...no downward tilt as the tops are only an inch from the 'acoustic' suspended ceiling . The beautiful thing is that you can walk toward the stage and the pattern falls of about 1 foot from the stage front! The interesting thing is, there is so little comb filtering within the pattern overlap from side to side, that it is nearly imperceptible as I traverse the room from side to side...curous

I think the shipping alone for this system might run in the thousands... it's a fairly big one, I put the 2 labsubs (I AM going to put 4 in there and see if I can topple the whole structure..) are on the right side with 2 of the turbo's and 2 tops, flown the other 6 turbo's and tops are on the left... I tell you there's nothing like LABsubs when it comes to ultra low end...the infrasonic output is palpable.. I show equal content 31.5hz energy on the RTA all the way to 170 hz... it's so effortless sounding it is such a pleasure to mix on...My son did some creative eq and go 10 hz pretty strongly that caused him to almost loose his lunch...BUT that will long term high output damage the surrounds on the drivers...
