a 100v, 120v 215 Graphic Equalizer in Europe

locallocal Posts: 3
Hi,

I bought in USA a 215 Graphic Eq and used it there. Now I moved to Europe and I have a doubt as how to use it with 230 V. I have read the thecnical data ONLINE and it says it can be use with 100v, 120v and 230v, but on the back of my EQ where the power cord goes in, it is written 100v 120v (it does not says 230v).

How can I use it in Europe? Do i need to buy a wall transformer? changing the power cord? Thanks. Any answer is really appreciated.

The manual does say 230v. You are most likely fine with a direct plug-in. Crack open the case and see if they is an internal switch. If there is one it will be right where the power socket is.

However, to be safe wait for confirmation from Gadget, and/or send an email to (or call) tech support.

Typically, the older non smart power supply units would need a different transformer for European applications. Sometimes they have taps internally that allow for 120/230, but not 5-/60 hz operation in all cases...(Japan) With the economics of the world marketplace and all I would think the probability of multi voltage tapped transformers (unless it is an older model) are unlikely.. I have been wrong (once :lol::lol::lol: sorry) but that's my thoughts, you might need a new transformer. Contact Tech support for a more accurate determination.

    Thanks both.

I opened the cover and there is not 230v flap. There is a big donuts-like transformer (I think) that says 120v 60H.

So I am waiting to know what technical support will tell me. When I bought it I knew I would move in one year to Europe and asked to the seller if the EQ was good for Europe and the seller says yes.

Probably I will have to buy a 120v---->230v transformer I suppose.
