Gadget is right. 4 double 15 cabs will be significantly differently than a recommendation for 4 single 12 cabs. Also list the amps available for use.

  • sorry bout that the Four Mains are 2 GMI Speakers 2 15\" subs 5 tweeters and a horn in each speaker powered by an crest 4000 amp, 2 legion speakers with 2 15\" subs and a horn in each speaker powered by an QSC 1310 amp both sets are rated at 500 rms 1000 peak for each speaker which I'm sure are not that much but still sound ok. Subs are 2 single madison 18\" which are rated at 700 watts a piece which are bridged with a yorkville audiopro 3000 amp. Its sound pretty good in my basment just thought I would try the drpa but need to know how to setup that because instuctions don't explain that kind of setup. Thanks

8 against 2 for is not a fair fight, usually. Since many pro level gear specs are fudged, I suspect that these cabs won't do as spec'd either. Normally I'd recommend a much lower x-over point in an 8 vs 2 set-up... 70 hz maybe. A lot of trial and error testing is ahead for you to figure out the best congifuration.
Do you currently have a x-over? It will much easier to find the optimum x-over point with a single knob control style than a driverack style (multi-filter). Yes the driverack will be a great tool, but for some it CAN be a step to worse sound if misused. Your multiple manufacturer top cab system is a problem maker. A driverack has many tools to help you ATTEMPT to solve that problem and in the hands of an experienced user can come pretty close to making the best of a bad situation. A traditional x-over can do nothing but split the signal into two parts. Yes, the driverack will work for you, but I don't know if I'd recommend it. Hopefully you will read the material Gadget mentioned, then come back with some follow-up questions.

  • then there is also the place you should start with the master level on the back of a mixer which I have a Pioneer djm 3000 mixer no one ever talks about that dial.

This is a Dirverack forum and that's a Pioneer mixer.. so we would not discuss something that is not germane to the Platform, However since you asked ...it's an attenuator(as the manual states) for lowering the gain if the amp is getting too much signal..The manual also clearly states that the unit output is +4Dbm and 1.23v which is pro level, and no adjustment should be necessary..
