DYNACORD F8 & F150

I am putting together a system with driverack PA with the following:


2x Dynacord F150 400W RMS 8 OHMS
powered by
MA-2402 stereo 505w at 8ohm per chan.

and

4x Dynacord F8 bins 500w RMS 8 ohms
powered by
MA-3600VZ 1565W at 4 ohm per chan

I plan to put 2 bins to each channel on 3600vz unbridged .

Any suggestions on crossover/eq/speaker tunings etc?

The dynacord speakers above come with a pm2600 system amp and i was going to copy the crossover settings from this:

110hz crossover frequency , 12db/octave

    I'd be careful...that MA3600 will overpower those subs! be VERY aware of any 'popping' sound.. and if heard BACK OFF real quick.. or you'll destroy those drivers...I'd set a BW18 @ 45 hz, and use the 110hz (actually 111.4 hz) LPF, I'd use the LR 24 slope though.. Set the HPF for the tops @ 118hz LR24... the spread should help with interference in the crossover region.

    Read the FAQ section though, it has LOTS of good info on the Driverack setup procedure...

    can you explain what BW18 @ 45hz setting is? i understand all the rest.

    That is a very steep filter that will have the lowest frequency produced by the system not much lower than 40-45hz... It's called the hipass filter because it passes everything above the cutoff. This will ensure that the woofer does not overexcrude ( go farther in and out than it is designed to)
    and be damaged. With that much power that is very possible...

  • thanks. just set it all up now for NYE. sounds nice and clean. it still needs eqing as the bass is a but muddy and lackes some definition but that will have to wait for another day.

    Try putting a PEQ Bell filter center @ 74 hz, and a Q of 4.410... now start moving the gain negative till the muddiness starts to wane... now move the center frequency up or down and see if that helps...you can fine tune from there...

    Also room modes set up in live sound @ 250 and 500 hz areas...
