DRPA as a vocal processor? (dual channel maybe)

I have recently decided to run FOH mono on my 260 and use the other side for monitors (single mix) that had prior been run on my DRPA. So now I have an unused DRPA.

How would the DRPA serve as an inserted vocal processor: EQ, lo-cut, compressor, AFS, etc.? Although the compressor is \"linked\", is that just the settings or they actually tied together. For example, compressor set to engage at +5db. Channel A singal is +8db and channel B signal is +4db. Does channel B also have it's output reduced by the same amount as channel A? And the same scenario with adding gain to a weak input?

Can I come up with good ones or what?

    DUDE! Get a 4800 there... AWESOME :lol::lol::lol::lol:

    Ya you do don't you... well I know there not summed...but I have to assume that what setting is applied to the other... that is to say that if you set the compressor to hit @ -3db on the left channel, and the right input is sitting@ -5...the comp would start hiyyng on the one @ -3 and wait for the other to hit that level as well...So for my money.. nice single channel processor...but... the department of redundancy department :lol::lol::lol: would almost preclude it from being anything more...

    Yes very vexing questions... :roll: I think you would have been better off asking the TECH guys... but then tha'ts wouldn't be any fun right..Oh I GET IT...this stump the ole gadget week isn't it :lol::lol::lol:

    Sheesh...

    Hi Mate(s)

    Just Pondering

    If you put a drpa and inserted it on vocal channel
    and had a 260 on FOH

    What would catch the feedback first?????

    the inserted drpa?? (first in line of the chain)

    is the responce time the same in the PA and 260??? (AFS)

    Just thinking??

    Fanman, Well in that scenario I'd turn off the 260 and force the DRPA to catch feedback on \"most important (and hottest) mic\" then turn it back on.

    Gadget, kind of figured that, too. May drop Tech a line. Or better do a real world test.

    Follow up question on AFS. What causing the \"snatching\" to be very slow. Loud squeals (room ringing) in excess of 5 secs. Too much pre-gain and not enough signal \"IN\" the 260?
