This is likely an issue with interference in the cabling. There was an IC changed in the ZCs a while back, which made them less susceptible to this interference. Shielded CAT 5 cables can often help as well. Also, it is always a good idea to make sure AC and speaker lines are not run in parallel with the Cat 5 cables. Hope this helps.
