Overlapping x-over for delay fills

DraDra Posts: 3,777
Here's a good question.
Let's suppose a basic Top + Sub combo at FOH with system crossed at 100hz. If delay fills are used 30 - 40 ft out for better average spl in a 100 ft deep room, what is the best practice? Mimic the x-over point (filter) or let it drop to say 70hz (-3db is 55hz) to fill some upper low frequencies? Speech is a no brainer, but for music playback with singing...?
Is this an if / then thing based on the size of the coverage area and the distance to the delays as to whether one or the other is prefered?

If I understand you correctly... :? Bass falls off by the inverse square law as well.. I'd allow them to do whatever they can comfortably do...

The delays (like the FOHs) are 12+1\". Can you recommend a point where vocal clarity vs low freq augmentation is win / win, or at least a draw. Given that this is not R&R and will likely NOT exceed 85db average throughout the room, is it even at issue?

Nope not even an issue at that volume...
