Hey Gadget, sound like a great idea. Question: Does the relative position of the set up (mic and speaker) during DR setup process, to the operating position of the speaker(s) have an affect on the results?

As I understand your question...As long as the horn is projecting onto the surface the mic is aimed at, and is not out of the horns pattern you should have decent results... If your talking about the Sampsons, and they are flown... use the nearfield method if you don't want to take them down...3-4 feet out.. in axis...aimed between the woofer and the horn. You won't be able to get as loud near because the DRPA will not allow clipping of the input stage... but that's all right...
