Hi,

I have the Driverack PX with 2 powered JBL PRX515 and 2 passive 18\" PD subs rated at 600W each powered by a 1200W amp.

Forgive me if I am asking a silly question, but I really dont understand how to setup a gain struture with powered speakers because I have been instructed to \"disconnect the amplifiers from the speakers\"

How is this possible with active speakers?

any advice would be appreciated.

You can't disconnect powered speakers from their amps. Use quality earplugs.

I believe Gadget has some ideas on ballpark settings that are easier on your ears.

Set the PRX @ 50 (just a little back from 12 O'clock) do the rest of the system with the 515's off...If you get the rest of the system up and running again and see if the sound is loud enough before things start to clip... problem with the powered speakers is they have built in limiters that make it pretty tough to do a proper gain structure.

In the future please include all model information with your question..It helps keep us from guessing...
