Driverack PA+ USB - a dummy?

Hi,

I just received my Driverack PA+. Seems to run fine. I did some setup with my 2 amped speakers (RCF Art 710A) and an amped sub. Maybe I should do it again with another Mike position, as the sound is not better than before... I have the original dbx Mike.

Afterwards, I plugged in an USB cable, expecting the 'New Hardware' to be recognized. But nothing happened at any USB port of my computer. Tried different cables with the same result. I also wondered, why the USB is nearly not mentioned in the manual and there is no CD included. Is that USB plug a fake or what is it for?

Any help would be nice. Thanks.

From what I know (not much), it is for updating firmware and wizard lists.
I assume that there is no CD, because there has not been an update for the \"brand new\" firmware. I would not expect anything soon. The DRPA+ is more current than the 260.

Dra is correct.. at this time the port is there for updating only and is not developed fully yet, however it looks as though we may have a new project in the works for some additional external control of the 260 and perhaps a GUI for the DRPA+ so stay tuned...

As for the Auto EQ... which preset did you use? A? B? C? or -0- flat? it makes a huge difference.. I recommend flat...and yes mic position will play a roll in the sound as well...

Did you do the auto balance first? were any bands really cut or boosted? those are suspect...

  • I just got my pa+ in today and was able to give it a run at an event tonight.

One of the amps I use is a QSC PLX 3002, and it's not in the preset lists. Am I not able to add it to my pa+ with an update on the site?

Not yet as an update but why worry? Visit the QSC web site and get the input sensitivity ... but if your using subs it's a moot point anyway... use the gain structure to set the amp sensitivity is the best way... see the READ ME FIRST BEFORE POSTING section...
