I am having a problom with my px, It will do this at start up or after running for awhile. what happens is the input output meters freeze up and the display locks up and none of the buttons will work sound will still pass through. this can be cleared by shutting down & powering back up (this does not always work ) one other note I have had at times an error messages on the display "stack collision" or AFC overrun. should still have warr.
I also have a DBX compressor 266XL im having probloms with!! this unit is out of warranty!
Right now Im not real Impressed with DBX products

Does it happen very often where you can know that it is fixed? If so, write down any critical settings that you want to keep and do a hard reset. It that does not fix your problem, use the warranty and have it repaired.

  • Not to worryed about the settings how do you perform a hard reset I have looked and havent found it. any help would be great!!

PS The problom is happening more often, it used to be weeks between failures now its just about every time! there are times it will not clear. Im a DJ/KJ and I do a min. of 3-4 shows a week, what sucks is to try and clear I have to shut down the speakers and then power down the PX ( Dead Air ) Not good!! Most times now as long as I have sound I leave it till next time.

    A.1 Factory Reset

In the event that a reset is required, the DriveRack® PX offers you the option of performing a “Softâ€? or “Hardâ€? reset. The Soft Reset resets all operating parameters except user presets. The Hard Reset Procedure will reset all preset information back to the factory defaults.
All Power-Up Functions require a button(s) to be pressed and held as the unit power is turned on.

    DriveRack PX Power-Up Button Functions

    Factory (“Hard) Reset.
Press and hold the <STORE> button at power-up until the following message appears:
    “! HARD RESET?
    “Yes <PREV PAGE>
    “No <Preset>
    • Pressing the <PREV PAGE> button will start a Factory Reset (All User Presets will become copies of the Factory Presets, all Utility settings will be defaulted, and all Security settings will be defaulted).
    • Pressing the <Preset> button will abort the Factory Reset sequence and the unit will reset normally.

    System (“SOFT) Reset
    • Press and hold the <COMP/LIMITER> button at power-up until the following message appears:
    “! SOFT RESET?
    “Yes <PREV PAGE>
    “No <Preset>
    • Pressing the <PREV PAGE> button will start a System Reset (All Utility settings will be defaulted.)
    • Pressing the <Preset> button will abort the System Reset sequence and the unit will reset normally.

Now lets look at the possible causes of corrupt software...
    1. Power
    2. Power
    3. power
The reason I digress is that other than hardware faults that is the only thing we have heard of that causes this. Digital devices in general are pretty sensitive...a voltage sag of as little as 3 volts will manifest itself in the amps, and that starts a spiral downward, that and transient spikes can scramble the software... A cheapo UPS can act as a conditioner, and can bolster the voltage when it falls below normal line level...
