New amp for my jbl jrx215

dmenacedmenace Posts: 18
Hey again folks, i need some shopping advice
Im looking to buy a new amp for my JBL Jrx215's.
At the moment im using the Mackie FRS-1300 so im a bit underpowered.

So i was having a look at the Crown XLS Series and i noticed that the XLS602 has a preset in the driverack while
the XLS802 dont.

I guess i would be good with either of them but im not sure which one i should take..

The speakers are rated 500 rms, the 602 has a preset and would give me 600w, the 802 has no preset and but would give me 800w.. I know i cant get enough power :D

But do i need the extra 200W or should i go for the preset since JBL recommends 500-1000 watts for the speakers..

    In the 260 wizard...
    602 - 83%
    802 - 86%
  • % ?! :?

I guess that could be confusing. Those are the amp attenuator settings for the 2 amps, for those cheating a bit on set-up. So you can use the 602 as your "plug-in".
    Those 200 watts = a 30% increase in headroom.

Peavey is just coming out with a new line of SUPER light weight amps.. I was going to grab one of the new EPX 3000 watt light weight Behringer amps for $300, bur looks like I can get a 6000 watt amp that weighs in at under 10 lbs for under $500! I'm waiting...and it supposedly has a 5 year warranty! The 1600 watt version is out now and weighs in at a whopping 7 lbs  and reports are that it sounds good and creates ABSOLUTELY NO HEAT... stone cold after 4 hours of bridged mono sub operation    The pro audio world is in shockShock.gif
