I NEED TO BUILD A SPLITTER/COMBINER

I am using a DriveRack PA+ and wish to come out of the "Mid" stereo and feed a combiner (resistor type I guess) so that I have a mono output which will then go to a sub woofer amp in bridged mode. Does anyone have a suggestion or schematic? The output Z of the PA+ is 120 and the input Z of the amp is 20K.
Thanks
Dan

Is the Low output not available in your set-up?

I use the Low output in the "internal" bridged mode to feed a "center" speaker per the suggestions of DBX. Initially it was also recommended that I use the Mid outputs for the sub woofers and drive them in stereo (since I have two sub woofers). That is not working out great. Something is wrong and Mike seems to think that "maybe" one channel is inverting and I am actually getting some cancellation etc. Another thought is that I don't have enough power. Both problems (potential or real) can be eliminated if I can convert the Mid output to mono and feed the sub amp in a bridged mode with the speakers connected in parallel. Mike says that I will need a splitter/combiner otherwise I will screw up the outputs of the DriveRack.

I need more info in order to solve this whole puzzle.. like what are ALL the components, amps, speakers and mixer..

If your running a mixer with the pan controls centered you are sending a mono signal (summed) to the L/R outputs of the mixer anyway...

Running stereo is not a very good idea for large broad audiences because what ever you pan one way the people on the other side won't hear it...

With the DRPA+ you can run dual mono and run a 2 way system and an other mono sub or fullrange or any part of the spectrum output...

Subs, being omni directional anyway, stereo is NOT necessary. If I knew which subs I could help with this and the other issue.

If you feed the subs a mono signal and place them together and they don't make much sound, and then when you unplug one the sound comes back.. one is inverted... you need to find out which is proper and which is wrong.. it's important...

If so let us know and we'll try and help figure it out.. but again the more info the better...

The easiest is to send you my PowerPoint diagram. Well, it would not allow me to attach a ".ppt" file. Tell me how to post the diagram or give me an email to send it to.

    You could email me at
    tzone42@paulbunyan.net
    or
you can set up an account with a server host like "Photobucket"
    http://photobucket.com/

and then attach the link to your post..make sure all model numbers and quantities are accounted for and that all cabling that is unusual is documented.

Also is this a church? or what type of venue, plus what duty does the system do (I.E. if a church setup, is it a "rock and roll" church with a band and worship team, or just for public address) (yes I noted the sub so just a speech setup isn't likely).

again the more info the better...
