We are installing a new DRPA+ in our church. I have some old Yamaha S4115 15" with horn for mains and seperate 18" subs. The mains are powered by a QSC GX5. The subs are powered by a QSC PLX3402 bridged. All of the components in the old cabinets are new. The specs are below. I have read the manual and many posts on the forum. Honestly, the more I read, the more confused I get. I need assistance with the initial setup/config based on my hardware. Thanks for the help.

Nice job of putting info in the post.. 90% of it is useless info...but.. and you didn't include some important info...
I have some old Yamaha S4115 15" with horn for mains
How many is "some"? How are they positioned (center cluster, left right config, on sticks...)

    Also,
    seperate 18" subs
How many subs is "separate"? What type cabinet? (DIY, copy of a commercial design, etc.) what is the 3dB down point of the cabinet?

See, we need those things to evaluate your setup and make recommendations...

    This:

FYI, an example of useful info:

    SPECIFICATIONS:
    Type 2-Way
    Crossover Frequency 1.6kHz
    Impedance 8 ohms
    Power Handling 400 Watts RMS

The MISSING info here is horn pattern: insert pattern info here________________ (like 90X40, 60X40..etc so we can determine coverage angles))
Flyware if it's hung...So we can verify it's safe to fly...

and some of the driver info is also pertinent..
    efficiency of the components,
    voice coil diameters,
Make and model of drivers is also nice...
The rest is all pretty much superfluous...That's just FYI because it makes it kind of difficult to find the info we do need to make the recommendations.. I know you didn't know this (most likely) and realistically all we REALLY need is coverage pattern, 3db down point (frequency response), power handling of the overall speaker cabinet, and power available for the cabinet.

The speakers are stacked with the sub cabinets on bottom. i will get the room measurements, placement measurements and cabinet measurements tomorrow. i apologize but i don't know what a 3db down point is. please advise. the make and model of the cabinet components are listed in the original post. thanks for your patience.

Please take pictures if you can because we still do not have a good idea of what the speakers are, or how they are deployed...

The 3db down point is the point at which the frequency response drops below it's published "average" frequency response.. there is also a typical 10 dB down point... but it's mostly useless to me...3dB is a relative doubling/halving of SPL levels and is considered the smallest noticeable changes to the human ear. 6dB is a doubling of amplifier voltage.

The horn pattern is important and is typical to the horn # I would assume 90X40 for a typical Yamaha horn with a 1" exit.. it is pretty certain that the driver is NOT the original...as for the woofer... Eminence was the most likely original provider, but I cannot verify if that is the original woofer... and that is important because the cabinet is designed around the woofer.. not the other way around...

You have also not answered the question of how many of each speaker...
the make and model of the cabinet components are listed in the original post. thanks for your patience.

Yes, but the cabinet is of interest here.. especially in the sub, because we have nothing to go on for what box the woofers are in...

All too often people just throw any old speaker in a box that was designed for a different speaker...and in this case the driver is most likely NOT original, and as such you could have major issues to deal with in the tunings... you may NOT be able to right the mess.. even with the driverack without bi-amping the tops... and that would be a JOB...

The good news is that the DRPA+ has a great tool set, and should be able to get you a good sounding product...

Again... more PERTINENT info would be necessary for the best recommendations here..

I have two main cabinets and two sub cabinets in a L/R setup. The cabinets were gutted of the original Yamaha components. The cabinets are stacked on the floor.

The cabinet dimensions for both the mains and the subs are 24.5w x 30h x 17.75d.
The distance between the cabinets is 32‘.
    The room size is 40’w x 64’d x 16’h.

    Main Cabinets
There are 2 ports/cutouts on each main cabinet.
The diameter of the ports on the main cabinets is 3.75h x 1.75w.
The ports are open inside the cabinet.
The 3db down point for the mains is 65hz according to the supplier of the components.

The mains were fitted with the following:
    Xover : Eminence PX2-1K6
    HF Driver : Radian 475PB – 8ohm
    15 Mids : Eminence KappaPro 15-A

I don’t know the horn pattern. Hopefully you can tell by the picture.

    The mains are powered by:
QSC GX5 Power Amp Used for Mains
    Output Power, 1 kHz, 0.1 % clipping
    8Ω, both channels driven 500 W

    Sub Cabinets
There are 2 ports on each sub cabinet.
The port diameter on the sub cabinets is 6.
The port depth on the sub cabinets is 10,
The 3db down point for the subs is 45.7hz according to the supplier of the components.

The sub cabinets were fitted with the following:
    18 Lows : RCF L18P300 8 OHM

    The SUBS are powered by:
    QSC PLX3402 Power Amp
    20 Hz–20 kHz @ 0.03% THD
    8Ω per channel 700W
    20 Hz–20 kHz @ 0.05% THD
    4Ω per channel 1100W
    EIA: 1 kHz @ 1% THD
    8Ω per channel 800W
    4Ω per channel 1250W
    2Ω per channel 1700W
    Bridge Mono:
    16Ω, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.1% THD 1400W
    8Ω, 20 Hz–20 kHz, 0.1% THD 2200W
    4Ω, 1 kHz, 1% THD 3400W

Currently the subs are wired for L/R coming out of the DRPA+ and into the PLX3402. The PLX3402 is bridged mono to the two subs that are linked together. I think this setup provides 3400wpc @ 4ohms for the two 8ohm subs which would be driven at 4ohms total. Please advise if I should change this setup.

Please keep in mind that I am an idiot, so please reply in layman terms. Thanks for the help and let me know if you need any other information.

Your sub amp is 3400 watts "bridged" at 4ohms.
    (2) 8 ohm cabs together = 4 ohms.
You would have 1700 watts per cab.

Do you still have the old crossovers that may have model numbers for the cabs? Year of these Yamaha's?
These guys need every detail before they can give a starting point.

    Sorry,
    It's the REALLY busy season...

Those subs... if properly tuned (which I doubt since it looks like a clone of some old JBL cabs that someone just added a "Better" driver to an old design) that driver can handle 4000 watt peaks..

So with a 47.5hz 3dBdown point you could safely go to 40 hz BW18 with those subs. With 1700 watts it might be smart to go to with 45hz BW18 though..

I'd set the LPF @ 100 hz LR 24 and the HPF for the tops @ 100hz LR24 to start with. Some fine tuning after that you might find that a few hz up or down might yield a better sound.
Currently the subs are wired for L/R coming out of the DRPA+ and into the PLX3402. The PLX3402 is bridged mono to the two subs that are linked together.

This makes no sense to me because L/R assumes stereo outs and Bridged mono is ... well mono...

A 2X3 would be fine for a fullrange top and mono subs...
I don’t know the horn pattern. Hopefully you can tell by the picture.

Looks like a typical 90x40 horn...which is OK for 1 per side, but will usually spray sound on the side walls with this pattern and make reflections a problem. A tighter pattern and flown mid highs would better cover the congregation... and keep the sound on them and off the reflective surfaces... but that wasn't the question...
