223XL with XTI's and JBL MRX"S

I am using the 223XL with Two MRX 525's on a XTI 4000, and Two MRX 528S's on a XTI 2000 each. And I am using the newmark IDJ2 for my head unit. My question is if there are some given points on where my Xover should be set? I just can't seem to get the right sound out of my speakers that I know I should be getting. Any help would be greatly appreicated. I am not using any presets on the XTI's at this time except for bridgeing the sub's. :?:

Ummm... dude loose THE 223... YOU ABSOLUTELY DO NOT NEED IT!

Now lets discover why...The Crown XTi amps have all the crossover and delay and eq needed for your rig

AND, the 223 will PALE by comparison to the sound you can get with the amps processing...

AND you can download settings from JBL since JBL, dbx and Crown are ALL Harmon international companies!

Now they may not be all you need BUT we can help here...Ok.. I just checked the tunings provided are for the DBX4800... but fear not, you can download the HiQnet and get the tunings and manually enter them to the XTi's.. Maybe there is a tuning for "Band manager" , which you should download, and use to set up the amps. The GUI will make things MUCH simpler...

You cannot even come close to the settings you can get from JBL, and the 223 is USELESS here.. sorry...Use the DSP in the amps...you WON'T be sorry.

That's what everyone keeps telling me, but here's the deal. I am running a 64-bit system on my computer and band manager only operates on a 32 bit system at this time. I will try and get the settings and tune them manually. In the meantime, any help to for now to get me by until I can get that done. I have a gig Saturday and don't have time between now and then to get the amps set right. Thanks!

well if your bound and determined (but it won't take any longer to set up the Crowns).. go here and see this FAQ:
    viewtopic.php?f=60&t=1712

But all you really need to do is open the xover section on the amps and set the subs HPF @ 40.14hz LR24 and 80.28hz LR24, then set the other amp for the tops @80.28hz LR 24 ...

That should take about oh...10 minutes (with learning curve) and will sound MUCH better.. guaranteed...

I know I'm killing you and I know you feel like the animation on your profile there....BUT???? On my sub's on the HP and LP, I have them set at 40.14 and 80.28, but does it matter what Type I use?? I have it set on the Linkwitz-Riley 24dB/oct. I'm assuming that's what you meant by the LR24. Is where it should be, or do I need to change that as well?? Then on my tops what should they be set on? Should my hp be set on 80.28?? What should my lp be on??? I'm telling you man, I'm clueless. Thank you for all your help and understanding.

    Sorry...
Set your HPF on the sub to @ 40.14hz LR24 and the LPF for the sub @ 80.28hz LR24
Set the HPF for the tops @ 80.28hz LR 24 ...there are NO LPF's on the hi outs, so we are letting the tops do whatever they can... frequency wise.

Yes the crossover slope matters...JBL has spent a lot of time and money getting good setups for their speakers...they, after all, have a vested interest in them sounding as good as possible.

Were here to help, just understand that we are trying to help you get this down pat... follow the directions and get a good jump on good sound...

Remember to read through the "Start here" and FAQ's as there is a wealth of knowledge and techniques there for your benefit.
