Gain control in xover section

In the xover section of the drpa there is a gain adjustment should that be set at zero? can setting that to high cause problems? It makes a considerable difference in volume to turn it up but then when you do you lose lots of control from the faders on the mixer only being able to push up the faders a little bit, just wondering if there is a common place those gains are set, thx

Zero is always a good place to start but if something is missing (such as the sub), increase the corresponding pass-band level. It's not unusual to have the subs boosted a few dB in the DRPA or any other processor.

Note also that the corresponding output meters will show the additional gain .. but beware... digital clipping is a NO NO!

If you are saying that you have max volume at low fader elavation... Try lowering the main cabs gain to get the balance right and the volume level at the fader like you want it. I would want max volume of the system with the faders up. Else, you have two levels, loud and off.

Thats whats happening , I am not getting alot out of my faders, so I have to balence the drpa xover gain and tweak it so I can get up to 0db out of the faders I guess, It also affecdts my gain knob on the fader, cant turn that up to far either, anotherwords I want more control on the board vs the drpa so its a tweak issue. I had both gains on the xover at 10 to 15 I know way to high

Now I'm confused. I thought you had high (too much) volume with the mixer faders low? But you said you had to set the x-over gains high to get loud? If that is the case turn down the x-over gains. Start at -0-.

Does your mixer have any switches or knobs on the back near the output connectors?

No switches or anything on the back I have the Yamaha MG166 Anyway what I meant was with the gain turned up on the xover it makes it so my fader on the board only goes up a hair well a little more than that and is cranking loud ! I am trying to balence it so more control can be had with the board , I didnt know those gains in the xover were supposed to be turned down. I also have an effects unit the lexicon mx200 and that also contributes alot to the volume, all these things need to be in sync , I am just having trouble Getting there
