I have the JBL MRX line of tops. I know people have asked about them and the various DR tunings. Yes, the questions have been discussed here by the helpful regulars-we should all be glad they help us so much! below are some images that Everett Watts (JBL) sent me to illustrate how to set-up the MRX tops and subs. Maybe it will help you see what we have all been told here on the Forum.
The MRX515 and 525 both uses an 80Hz as well when used ith subs as shown here. Note that the sub – when used with the 525 – should be a minimum of 3dB louder –
The 512M, when used alone, should use a bandpass from 60Hz on out, the 515, when used alone, should use a bandpass from 51.55Hz on out, the 525, when used alone, should use a bandpass from 40Hz on out.
No delay is shown for sub-full range alignment when used together, and no eq as well. EQ would then be an issue the particular venue and it’s charteristics (if indoors).
SO...nice info for all us MRX users.
The tunings available on the website for the MRX Series are actually just describing the crossover point, filter slope types and bandpass frequencies.
All the units are crossed over at 80Hz, using L-R (Linquitz-Riley) 24dB per octave slopes. The MRX518S utilizes a bandpass of 40Hz – 80Hz –
