DBX266XL Best to use for Gating Drums?

Hello Can anyone tell me if the DBX266XL is the best tool to use for gating drums?

I also have a Driverack PA+ in my rig

    Personally I like a dedicated "Gate" unit for that purpose...I use the old Furman gates but they don't make them any more. As Dennis pointed out the 1074 is a fine full featured choice. Then you can use the compressor for it's best purpose. The gate section in the compressor has no where near enough control to be very useful...
