Hiss

I have just bought a pa+ and when I switched it on for the first time today got quite a lot of background hiss, one side louder than the other..All patch leads are new balanced leads...
The hiss is there even when the mixer is not connected to the Driverack.
I changed this unit from the Behringer 2496, and did not have a hiss problems at all, with that installed...
Any ideas...

should go through a wizard setup and if your equ isn't in there you should select "custom"
You should make sure that the +4 (pro level) -10 (consumer level) on the back is in the correct position for your system
We have provided a "start here"

Pa+
Two XT1 4000 Amps
Martin F12 X 4 Martin S18 X 2
XLR balanced patch leads
Run through the wizard...set to -4 on the rear of the unit. The ground lift on just makes it 10 times louder.
Makes the hiss without the input leads connected to the pa+ and with.
Did it straight out the box.
The hiss is to loud for me to use the unit.
Prob something simple....or me that's simple.
All settings for speakers set to custom,,,amp settings set to XTI 4000.
Amps set to 100% volume, eq curve set to dj.

Thanks for your help..
I have just run the PA+ and the PA side by side.
I find the the EQ curve "D" in the old driverack I have is the best setting for my system.
If I decided to buy a new Driverack PA, would that eq choice still be available in the software, in a newer unit ??
I think that curve sounds realy punchy...

This is confusing.. if you have them side by side.. why not try it?
