A friend of mine got hold of Martin Audio ICT500 tops andd ICS300 bins, he is powering these with 2 x EV Q1212.

He is at the end of his patience with them and approached me for some help.

As far as I can find out, there is a unit that SHOULD be with the speaker set called "M2" which contains the crossover and eq settings for the rig,.... needless to say... he does not have this unit, and it seems its discontinued (nice) -.-

He recently purchased Driverack PA in an effort to combat this problem, but is struggling on a couple of fronts :

1. The ICT500s are described in tech sheet as full range speakers, he can use the RTA mic to eq a flat response from them, but without this they are unbelievably mid range heavy and without clarity, does this sound normal (all speakers are fine)?

2. Struggling with crossoverpoints between the tops and bins - any help appreciated

I'm visiting him next week and would love to be able to help him out a bit, all help greatly appreciated

Yeah, post the tech sheets. Are the tops bi-ampable?

Interesting... no HF diaphragm? ICT induction drive... hmmm

Anyway looks like the controller is a 120hz lopass/hipass filter and that's about it...because the tops do not require it without the subs (unlike the bose 901's that sound even crappier without the processor...

So ya, set up a 2X4 (stereo tops and subs, or bi-amp tops) with a 120hz crossover @ LR24 and do an outdoor auto eq pass...and see what happens. I think contacting Martin audio and seeing what they say might be a good idea as well..

Keep us informed.. I'd like to find out more about this ICT thing, but it does say "Hi performance Vocal system".

What I am reading is that they can sound really good with some tweaking...but that the controller doesn't offer the capabilities to tame them.
