DRPA on main inserts

:?: I'm new to forum but been using a DR for some years.

I usually use it In-line with the desk main outputs but before active pa. Just tried using it on Mackie Onyx main inserts. These are Pre fader so Driverack still getting signal with fader at Zero. - While I don't think this is a major problem, I did notice that setting AFS was innacurate as fixed filters were locked in due to constant signal.

Anyone know a work around or should I go back to In-line configuration.

Cheers

Could you give us an idea what are the reasons here.. for going insert/or output. The inserts are likely less voltage potential...

  • I did realise that use via inserts would loose the balanced signal level but thought as DR is a prosessor as opposed to effect that connection in this way wouldn't be a problem.

There are no practical reasons for the change in configuration... just thought I'd give it a try

Gather by your response that In-line is preferred method of connection?

Yes unless there is a real reason you can't place it in line...
