DBX 234XL normal temperature?

Hi All,

I just want to ask what is the normal operating temperature of this dbx 234XL? I just bought this product and tested it for a gig but unfortunately, i turn it off because i notice it is producing more heat than my existing Konzert crossover. Is this temperature normal for this product? Also the dbx 231 EQ produces heat. Please share your experience with this dbx products. Is this normal for all their Products? Thanks a lot.

Any device with a transformer/ power supply will generate heat. How much heat remains to be seen...How much heat are we talking about?

The amount of heat is just something greater than our Peavey PV10 Mixer and Konzert Cross-over. The DBX 234XL is much Heater than DBX 231. Is this normal for DBX234XL? Actually, we used it continuously for 12 hours but no problem. We just curious about its temperature back panel, lets say its something that is above from normal operating temperature from all our gadgets.

If this is normal for 234XL, then it should not be an issue. I just want to make sure because in the end after warranty, money matters.

Without a firm temperature range I doubt anyone could tell you if it's usual.. I have one I can check this weekend at an install. Give me an idea what the temperature is,, or no dice...

Thanks Gadget. We can test and measure it in our next gig. I will let them bring a thermometer and test the temperature compared to other gadgets. Thank you.
