DJ using Powered Behringer, 2 Tops & 2 Subs (B215D & B1800D-Pro). Boost Freq on Subs-OFF
Did auto EQ (in door method) C Precision Med
current setting: Mains B215D, 118hz LR24 0DB. Subs 45hz BW18 5DB, 118hz LR24.
Subharmonic-OFF. Comp/Limiter-OFF. EQ Section GEQ/PEQ-OFF (not set yet). AFS-OFF.

Any directions on making it better.

Thanks, joecee

    Which indoor method?

be very specific what your setup was...and...

    What are your problems?

I really find it hard to make those 215's sound good... I have the 212's and they are actually usable...but fragile...I have repaired MANY of those 215's...The problem is that the horn is so tiny that they have to cross it VERY hi and so the 15 beams like crazy...and its really tough to smooth it out...

Actually no real problem. Just checking to see if my settings were heading in the right direction. concerning the in dorr method...I set up the tops (tilted forward) and subs about 4 feet from the mike (which was on a pillow on the floor)In my basement (concret floor)
Concerning the sound of the tops, they have sounded pretty good so far. I find I often have to turn them down to balance with the subs. I'm actually very surprised with the sound of the Subs. (much bigger than I thought they would be, but give a nice deep tight bass.

Thanks again for your imput. I'm just trying to make the equipment sound the best it can.

Hopefully only one side at a time... not both during Auto Eq

I'd suggest a towel or something less thick...for the mic

We have found that for tops of FOH systems that ground plane measurements are better...

but with the speaker on it's side instead...

OK. I'll go back and do it again (one side at a time), and instead of tilting the tops I'll lay them down.

    Thanks

One top from one side only... no sub, because the subs build up in the room and create super modes... do that by ear indoors is best.. I have detailed a bit of information on front loaded subs that show the high efficiency points and their best treatment...using PEQ's and all that info is in the FAQ section...

Note that ANY indoor auto eq should be scrutinized, and any overt equalization ing the GEQ should be looked at with skepticism...and eq'ed by ear...
