2x3, GUI?

fiddlerfiddler Posts: 16
After asking questions here a few months ago I finally got a 260 and, with the help of these great forums, I'm learning to set it up.

I'm trying to use the GUI to configure 3 inputs with three outputs. I can't find a factory preset with a similar configuration to modify. The Config Wizard seems to modify whatever preset is loaded. Is there a way to start a new configuration from scratch with the GUI? If not, can I do it on the 260?

Input 1 > Main Mix
Input 2 > Fill Mix with Delay
Input 3 > Monitor Mix

Forgive me if I missed this in the FAQs. If it's there I'd appreciate a link.

Thanks,
R.C.

3 inputs? I wish it were so.
But you can set up a ...
    Main mix
Delay fills (as long as it is the same mix)
    & monitor mix.

    Using GUI.

Main mix from board into input A.
    Monitor mix into input B
    In config mode...
    Unlink all modules
    Input A (I'll assume tops and subs) 1x2 x-over (outputs 1&2)
also input A 1x1 filter for delay fills (assume more full range or also usimg same x-over point as mains) (output 3)
    Input B 1x1 filter (output 4)

While in config mode, right click on modules and boxes to change.
If you haven't done the online tutorial, you should. It goes thruough a lot of this.

  • Thanks for the quick reply. I've done the online tutorial and will do it again now that I've got the unit in front of me. I brainfarted the 3x3, I meant 2X3.

Is there a preset you think I should start with? I'm doing a pretty simple setup. No subs. All speakers are passive two ways with internal crossovers. Most of the presets are more complex than I need.

    Thanks,

If this is a fixed install, just use #1. If one of several venues or set-ups, then pick one. Whatever you do, rename it for ease of locating.

In the GUI, select a preset (any of them) and click the Config button to set up for your ap. Name the outputs... Mains, Fills, Delays, whatever. Name the preset "City Aud" or whatever and load it into the 260. It really is simple.

Why not just do a wizard setup and get as close as you can.. even using custom for everything you cna then edit the HPF and crossover points without having to satrt all over with a useless perset?

Just to be clear... by preset, I was referring to a slot, not a stored set-up per say. Either way you have edit the modules, etc.

Figured as much... just thought that a little clarification might be in order...:mrgreen:
  • Thanks Gentlemen. I'll try this over the next couple of days. Being able to ask questions here is a very helpful thing.
  • The GUI tutorial shows using the Wizard for the selection of multiple amp/speaker combos as well as output routing. When I run the software it only allows one amp/speaker combination and I never come to the output routing screen. I feel I am missing something basic here. What do you think it might be?

I am trying to run a pair of JBL MR825s with a Carvin HT450 amp for FOH and some CGM floor monitors with a Crown Powertech2 amp. Eventually I want to add a fill channel but these two will get me running.

    Thanks,

You are wanting to run a stereo pair AND a monitor? That would take 3 inputs...

Or, you want a dual mono setup

Try pressing the [config] button on the GUI and you will then be able to find all the hidden goodies...

  • Dual mono.

In the 260 stereo IS essentially dual mono, EXCEPT you only get one Auto EQ pass...

Look at U1 config, that's essentially a dual mono setup...

Now in the GUI select [config ] right click on the P (PEQ) you get a dropdown box that allows you to select 9 band PEQ / 28 band GEQ...

If you see something that is linked and you want to unlink them, left click to highlight, right click gets dropdown menu select 'unlink'

To link, highlight one box with left click hold [ctrl] and left click to highlight the other box, then right click and select 'link'

in the config mode, left click to highlight the crossover box, right click and choose from the various crossover types.

When done press config again and "replace existing config?" [yes]
