I want to run a 4 way monitor mix, using the 4 aux outs on my board, can this be done using 1 DRPA? or do I need 2?

4 individual mixes requires 4 inputs and 4 outputs...if you can live with 2 mixes you could look at controlling 4 different monitors with one DRPA/DRPA+ or 260, but not DRPA...

I have 4 separate mixes in 2 different systems.. one run by a DR4800 the other 2 Crown XTi amps that have built in processing. The system with the 4800 is also bi-amped which requires 8 separate outputs...

Ok I have a DRPA+ are you saying to daisy chain two monitors ? I can live with 2 mixes but im not sure how to hook up 4 monitors to the 2 inputs on the DBX.

IF you have 4 amp channels you can feed each with one of the 6 outputs of the DRPA+...you would want to set a bandpass filter, which is really the same as a crossover but with only an HPF (in the case of the hi outs... we'll discuss that later), which can be set whatever HPF # you like.. I typically (indoors) HPF the monitors about 120-150hz to eliminate a lot of stage mud...

You could also hook the monitors up in parallel (2 to a channel) IF... the monitors are 8 ohms and the amp is capable of 4 ohms stereo, or if the monitors are 4-8 ohms each ..IF ... the amp is 2 ohm stable in stereo.. (you could use series connection BUT the impedance goes from 8 to 16 ohms or 4 to 8 ohms and the effective power of the amps goes down proportionately...)

For a 4 way monitor split (using 2 inputs and 4 outputs) you would go into the wizard and set up a 2x4 (labeled as stereo tops and stereo subs) you would then set the HPF on the hi outputs @ 120-150hz BW18

you would set the low outputs HPF @ 120-150hz BW18 as well and then set the LPF to -out- ( there is no LPF on the high outs... so if you want an LPF set up a 2x6 in the wizard and set the HPF on the mid and low outs @ 120-150hz BW18 and the LPF to whatever you want like 12K @ BW 6 (I don't think there is a LR6 in the DRPA+ but that would be effective as well..)) you would then NOT USE the hi outs... which is perfectly fine...

Had you provided the amp and monitor models we could have been more specific...

If you would like to auto EQ your monitors look up this thread in the FAQ section...
    viewtopic.php?f=60&t=2410

the thread presumes a 260 but the method is the same...

I should have told you, the 2 monitors we are running currently are a biamped setup, the amp that powers these is a Carvin 2004 4 channel amp.

The DRPA can do bi-amp monitors.. but only 2 monitors... 4 would require an 8 output processor. You could run 2 additional fullrange monitors as well... but that's another story ... what monitors and what settings are you using?

The monitors we are using is a custom deal, each one has 2-EV12s and a JBL 2440 Compression driver. DBX is in 2x4 mode....lows&mids 80hz BW18 5.0Db highs 1.06Khz Lr24 3.1Db Left and right out via Nuetriks connectors to each monitor. What we need are 2 more monitors added to the mix, 0ne for the drummer and one for the keyboard, they would not have to be biamped. Just wondering if theres a way to do that without purchasing another DBX, we already have 2 One for FOH and 1 for Monitors.

Ya...you'd have to run a custom setup answer the prompts so that you end up stereo/dual mono then 2x6 config easiest way to explain it would be...

left input > left hi output and left low output > custom bi-amp monitor (set up the way you had it)
right input > right mid output > fullrange monitors

What amps do you have for the bi-amp monitors?

The amp for the monitors we have now is a Carvin 2004 4 channel

Ok.. not a big deal, simply press the [parallel 1-2] and [parallel 3-4] and then put the LF input from the left low output into channel of the amp and the hi left output into channel 3....

However...it does not appear to be bi-amp capable so you would either need to make a combiner...

2 each NL2 or NL4 connectors (male) and one NL4 connector (female) for each side (if your using 4 conductor cable) or

2 each 1/4" (male) connectors and one NL4 female connector (female) for each side (if you using 4 conductor cable) or

if your using 2 each 2 conductor cables you could put 2 NL4 male connectors (identified as low and hi output) or 1/4" male connectors on the amp end of the cables..OR

if you want to use the normal NL4 cables as they are configured (to eliminate any chance of confusion) build a jack panel which will require 4 each NL4 male connectors and 2 panel mount NL4 female jacks...

    NOTE:
you could use 1/4 inch jacks but hey... there's a reason they developed the NL4's... they are more robust, offer considerably more current capability, and you can't
    contaminate the contacts...
