Faulty input led's DBX 1046

I recently aquired a 1046 and after several uses, the input LED's are coming on even if there is no input signal. First it was 1 LED, now it is up to 3. This happens on each channel.
The unit was bought used so I'm assuming there is no warranty.
Any comments?

Do the LEDs stay lit if you unplug the input cable?

Assuming that there are no audible problems, sounds like the metering circuit is faulty and is latching / sticking on peaks and not releasing / dumping the voltage. If you feel comfortable at all. Open it up and check all all the solder joints and look for burnt, swollen, or exploded components.

  • I recommend factory service at the earliest sign of this LED problem.
It may start with 1 or 2 LED's and progressively get worse.
There are a series of components our techs are aware of and can fix this fairly easily and quickly.

  • Thanks guys for your response. I recieved an email from DBX. They said they would give me an rma and repair cost would be $35.00 instead of the flat rate since this is a known issue.
    Merry Christmas!
