Graphic EQ to go along with PX. Redundant?

Would it be pointless to route a Graphic EQ in conjunction with a DRPX?

I was curious about feedback outbursts that might happen during a show that I could pull down faster with the EQ.

It's often done where there are visiting engineers... note that not all GEQ's are created equal...

vandy79, If this is in reference to your school cafetorium / gymnasium thing then I would say no, don't bother. The DRPX should handle feedback duties just fine.

If you have one it might be a good idea to have it present during set-up. It you see that you will need to make constant emergancy adjustment, then patch it in.

In fact, if your mixer has channel inserts, use it for the most likely problem mics. That way you won't alter playback because some shmow (?) is a quiet talker won't get into the mic and you have to make that mic sound bad just to be able to hear them.
