Help with Atomic tops and EAW subs with Driverack PA+

hello-

new to the forum here and have been looking over the posts and
topics and have seen much helpful info but need more... as usual lol.

I have two of the new Atomic powered CLR speakers.. for tops mids etc.
anything basically above 118-120 and the EAW subs are the 250z's.
The 250's are already listed in the driverack however the CLRs aren't for
one as they are a completely new product but has been taking the web by storm.
Had to get on a long waiting list to get them.

I am for the moment just wanting to set these us as a system in my home... a small room
15x15 diameter. Not much of the walls are uncovered and the floor is carpeted.
Use is for live playing and recording as well... since the
CLR's are as flat sounding as they make pretty much. I am using a Mackie cr1604 mixer
and QSC 3402 amp. Im not sure what else anyone would need info wise to help me as I am new here but will try to provide whatever is necessary. I am wanting to get the system setup so
as not to have feedback etc. and get the crossover point set correctly, everything but using the sub synth. Please let me know what to do or info to provide. Here is some on the CLR...
Thanks U!!!!

Hmmm, Well, I'd have to know FR 250z or SB 250z?

Thanks so much for even replying to my post Gadget. They are the
FR 250 Z's and the speakers are the Active model of the Atomic
CLR series by Jay Mitchell. I admit at the moment I don't have the mic
to calibrate the room but my drummer does have it if he can find it.
I don't know if this creates a major prob or not. Atomic recommends
crossing over around 120 if u are pushing major volume and bass (they
even have a switch on the back of the speaker to do this at 120 as well
as a switch if u are using subs or not. There is also a switch to flip
if u are using them for FRFM or backline or monitors. I have them
pole mounted on the subs and set to FRFM of course. Im not going for
extreme volume without feedback I want a good comfortable loud
and as flat or realistic uncolored sound as possible since Id like to
do some recording. I also use an Axe FX 2 guitar processor from Fractal Audio
and this was my first reason for buying the CLR's as they are relatively flat
so I am able to create presets and have them sound they way they should.
Of course most of my guitar tone is projected by the Clr's and not much through
the subs. I may be completely off but I have the Clr's crossing over at 106 (I believe
was the setting) and the subs the same. I don't know if I am supposed to have a
gap in between or not, (I'm not a sound guy but trying to learn as I go so please forgive
if I seem ignorant about some things). I tried uploading the PDF files for the speakers but wouldn't let me and copy paste wouldn't work on all I tried either. As far as the amp goes I
am sure u are familiar with it,,,, it is the QSC Plx series 3402. Running in stereo. Currently turning the amp at about 2 oclock. The tops at 50%. I have tons of adjustments in gain as the CLR's also have input trims as well and I have mine set low...they don't clip red on input.
I hope u can help me and really appreciate your input and replying.

I was going to recommend 120hz @ LR24 (and I still do) for the crossover point, all switches on the tops off...let the driverack do the heavy lifting. as far as the reason I needed to know which sub was for HPF on the subs, and with the power and FR model I would suggest 40hz BW18...

Pretty much what the Auto eq is for (as far as the speakers go) is to get them as flat frequency response as possible. Rooms are a totally different thing. without flat response any attempt to deal with room acoustics is going to be like polishing turds...If you haven't already, take a look at the FAQ section and Start here threads for lots of tips and hints...
