Hey Everyone!

I have to build up a "new" PA out of some gear we carried together.
I'm not 100% sure about the crossover frequencies / settings and the setup (2 Way, Bi-Amped, Left, Right...???)

Signal Chain:
Mixer
dbx DriveRack PA+ (Left and Right IN)

Left LOW Out (Mono) --> QSC MX2000a (Bridged) --> 2x Turbosound TSE-118 (parallel)

Right HI Out --> EV DMC-1122a Controller Right Side
--> LF Out to QSC MX1500 --> EV Deltamax DML-1122 (MI)
--> HF Out to QSX USA 850 --> EV Deltamax DML-1122 (HI)

Left HI Out --> EV DMC-1122a Controller Left Side
--> LF Out to QSC MX1500 --> EV Deltamax DML-1122 (MI)
--> HF Out to QSX USA 850 --> EV Deltamax DML-1122 (HI)

Crossover Settings (as far as i could attempt with my knowledge??!)
HPF (Sub) BW18 @ 45Hz
LPF (Sub) LR24 @ 120Hz
HPF (Top) LR24 @ 120HZ
LPF (Top) ---

Dont' konw if it works that way, we need to run the PA on saturday so i'm a little bit concerned about the result.

Thanks in advance

Can't find any info or specs for the Deltamax speakers (other than they once exited). However, your numbers look OK. 120hz might be a little high, but again, I don't know what the low is in the cab.

  • I got the following specs:

    EV DML-1122
    70Hz - 20kHz
    HF 75 watts @ 8 Ohm
    LF 300 watts @ 8 Ohm

    TSE-118
    40Hz-300Hz
    300 watts @ 8 Ohm

QSC USA 850 (for EV DML-1122 HF)
    2x 270 watts @ 8 Ohm

QSC MX 1500(for EV DML-1122 LF)
    2x 330 watts @ 8 Ohm

    QSC MX 200a (for TSE-118)
    1x 2000 watts @ 4 Ohm (Bridged)

100hz might be a better choice.

  • sounds logic for the moment....
shall I overlap the LPF of the subs and the HPF of the tops???
isn't there otherwise a very strict cut between subs and tops?

for the system setup I have to choose custom speakers and custom amps
custom speakers bi-amped for the tops or not??

Don't over-lap, simply change both 120hz's to 100hz's. The component will mesh nicely.

Yes. Custom bi-amp and custom sub (mono). The QSC amps may be in the Wizard (not sure), but custom is fine as well, since you are going to do a manual Gain structure. Right?

    DRA

OOPS! - You have the controller for the EV's to handle the hi-mid stuff & PEQ adjustments. No. Select custom Passive with custom mono sub.
  • well, for the summery:

    Custom speakers passive tops
    Custom speakers mono subs

    HPF (Sub) BW18 @ 45Hz
    LPF (Sub) LR24 @ 100Hz
    HPF (Top) LR24 @ 100HZ
    LPF (Top) ---

    gain structure manual

thx a lot!!!!! you saved my Saturday ;-)
    cheers
