Hello,
I’ve been browsing the forums for the last couple days, reading some really good info. I am trying to set up a home karaoke in the basement 15’x35’. So far I am ok with the results but would like some more expert inputs. I’d like my lower feq to be tighter (less boomy) and singing voice a little more natural. My system consists of the following:
Driverack PA+
Fronts: EAW FR153z specs below;
Frequency Response (1 W @ 1m)
3 dB 60 Hz to 18 kHz
-10 dB 48 Hz
Axial Sensitivity (dB SPL, 1 Watt @ 1m)
Full Range 97
Impedance (Ohms)
Full Range 8
Power Handling, AES Standard (Watts)
Full Range 500
Calculated Maximum Output (dB SPL)
Full Range Peak 130.0
Full Range Long Term 124.0
Nominal Coverage Angle, -6 dB Points (degrees)
Conical 100
Recommended High-Pass Frequency
24 dB/Octave 40
Amp: QSC PLX 3602
Sub: JBL PRX618XLF specs below;
System Type: Self powered 18", bass-reflex
Maximum SPL Output: 133 dB peak
Frequency Range (-10 dB): 30 Hz - 105 Hz
Frequency Response (±3 dB): 39 Hz - 93 Hz
Input Connectors: Balanced XLR 1/4 inch combo jack with XLR loop through.
(stereo)
Input Impedance: 20K Ohms (balanced), 10K Ohms (unbalanced)
Signal indicators: Limit : Red LED indicates limiter active condition
Signal: Green LED indicates signal present
Polarity: normal or reverse polarity
Crossover Modes: DSP controlled 48 dB/Oct. filter slope
Crossover Frequency: 90 Hz
Dynamic Control (Input): dbx Type IVâ„¢ limiter circuit
Mixer: Allen& Health ZED 14FX
After I run the auto wizard, I’d like some help with the optimal EQ and crossover settings. I need the basic and then I can fine tune it but I am not really knowledge able about PA system. Any other settings on the driverack, auto EQ, Comp/limiter etc… will be greatly appreciated too, but EQ and Crossover are what I need most.
Also, my sub is sensitive to feedbacks from the mic, don’t know if I should run the AFS again.
Thanks in advance for the help!
Leon

I've read the auto EQ and it seems more complicated than I can comprehend so its best not to it then?
