Problem with dbx 266xl compressor

After about 30-45 minutes of it running, it suddenly gets all the way compressed like the threshold knob was turned down even though nothing actually changed. So after that I have to raise the threshold to compensate for the sudden change... anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it?
