Is there anybody in here?

A quick question, manual says to place the mic 25' from the speakers? I'm going to use this in my home studio, which is less the 20' long. I would assume the best place would be the sweet spot where my skinny ass sits?

Thanks.

Unless you have significant acoustic treatment, you are fighting an uphill battle for your application. Just tune by ear at the mix position, then compare to the Auto-EQ with the mic at the same spot. Only use one speaker.

  • Thanks for the reply. I do have treatment and my room sounds reasonably good as is, I mix at low levels and my mixes transfer well. I got this unit cheap, $100 brand new, so thought it was worth a try, no real loss. Just thought it might tweak my sweet spot and help flatten the EQ a little.

Use only one speaker? So mic in sweet spot with either L or R monitor?

    Have a happy thanksgiving...

Yes. The mic will get "confused" with multiple sources. Also, only trust 170-700hz to be accurate. All frequencies above and below should be reduced to about 1/2 the boost / cut (or use you ears to tweak).

  • Thanks Dra that's good info. We'll see what happens.
