220i "F" program

Hi,
I have an older 220i that I'm just now trying to figure out. It shows an "F" in the program window on the unit. What does this mean, is it fried? I tried both hard and soft factory reset, and they don't do anything. It also doesn't seem to connect to the computer, although the computer sees something with an RS232 connection. The PC light on the unit doesn't come on.
