JBL EON ONE Compact Master Volume RED

Hey!

I have recently purchased a JBL EON ONE Compact and was wondering what is the true purpose of the 'red light' on the Master Volume when volume is increased above a certain point. I am shocked how there is absolutely no information about this in a manual or pretty much anywhere online.

Is it an indicator that it may damage the product? Or when the sound will distort? Or simply a indicator it is coming close to full volume.

Anyone have the answer to this?

    I purchased one last week. Pretty disappointed with the volume level. It starts blinking red at a very low volume. Never expected such poor product from JBL
