iPad to Charge 5 Partyboost Stereo Pairing Not Working

This seems to be an issue that JBL is unwilling to address. I'm posting this for posterity. I can stereo pair with my iPhone via the app using Partyboost to my recently purchased Charge 5's. However, I have been totally unsuccessful at getting it to work with my iPad mini 6th generation, even after contacting support. I have some Cambridge Soundworks Oontz speakers that pair just fine with my iPad but the JBLs are frustratingly uncooperative. Attached is a photo of what the speakers look like when attempting the stereo pair. Both speakers are found, but only the left one will play. Both should also have the white ring around the power button but only the right speaker does.
