Refinishing Rusty JBL Speaker Grills

Howdy,
I have bunch of SRX & VRX boxes with rusty grills. Otherwise, they are still going strong. Here are my questions / comments:
1. What is the foam backing used behind the grill?
2. Can this backing be purchased & applied by an end user?
3. Has anyone on this forum had any similar success?
4. Please share pics and your experience!

1: http://www.macsmithcorp.com/ is the OEM supplier of both the grill and the foam on SRX and VRX.
2: Yes and end user can buy
3: I've used them.... it's a bit pricy, but it is OEM.
Unless JBL has switched since March 19, 2021...... so I find it interesting the grills for most all JBL speakers are made in the USA, then shipped to TJ to be assembled. lol
