Ain't you comparing the volume with a commercial material like an audio CD?

Then, how different in decibel degree?

As the basic knowledge about this mixer, Multitrack recording function records each channels preamp direct out. It is recorded as pre processing, pre fader, and also pre mute buttons. Only the pre amp gain is the volume factor. If you are talking about multitrack recording, you should turn up the preamp gain.

2 track recording function records master LR bus. This is post fader, post processing. It will be recorded as the master level. Normally live PA level is -30dBFs to -10dBFs in the level meter. Recording level matches this as well.

On the other hand, live recording material will be lower volume than commercial materials. Level difference would be about -40dB to -10dB around. if your recording were lower than CD, but the lower difference were those zone, it is normal. Not the problem.

Commercial materials are also started from such low volume recording, Because the recording engineer don't want to have any clipping but they don't know how big volume comes yet. They expect the most high level when the musician excites and it needs some head room as an insurance. Clipping means that the take will be garbage even if that was the most great play.

After recorded once, it can be played same level all the time because it's already recorded material. Then engineers can mix those materials repeatedly to aim the high level up to full.
After the mixing down, such mixed material goes pre-mastering step as finalize the mix.
There are many kinds mastering compressor effects to make up the listening volume.
Even if such several mix has had all same highest peak level, human don't feel they are all same level because the density of the volume are different. Pre mastering engineer adjust the song level finally according to the song list of the album and music genre, and some factors by using such mastering compressors and EQs.
Even if the level meter indicates same level, premastering step usually makes +6dB to +12dB louder feeling.

You recorded just in live yet.
So you should not compare the live recording level with such finalized music materials.
