If it follows SIS, > is supposed to turn it on and < will turn it off. I usually leave switchers on all the time so I am not positive about that second one.
Agreed n the "leave it on" part. There's usually a lot if stuff down wire that won't like it going away. Usually the time I need to power a switcher down is a bad time and I'm cutting it off via a power controller.
I leave switchers on too, but if they have power commands, I like to send an ON anyway, in case they got shut off for some reason I didn't anticipate. Which Extron switcher is it? I haven't used them in years, and the ones I have docs on don't have power commands.

If you can´t access them, tell us the switchwer model and maybe i could find you the command.
