CDi1000 and CSM-21 no signal

I just set up a new system with the JBL CSM-21 mixer and the Crown CDi 1000 and I am getting no signal to the amp. I am for sure getting a signal to the mixer, but no matter what I try I can’t get the signal lights to turn on and no audio at all out of my speakers. I have rewired it all a few times with no luck as well. Any help would be appreciated.

    Does the CDI work without the CSM-21?
    Can you describe how you hook up the csm to the cdi? (phoenix to phoenix?)
    How are you using the phoenix (3 pin cable adapter)?
    Note: I don't think you can use the USB input for audio connection. Confirm?
    So via audio connection only. Then, you're not getting sound out of the csm. Zone controlled? Level settings? Mute? How do you confirm that the csm is putting out audio?
    Note: a lot of preamp outputs can be monitored through headphones! Build a small adaptor from phoenix 3 pin to stereo jack and check csm outputs.
