I know what "stereo" and "bridge" means. What is "y" ?

Usually, a 'Y' configuration implies that the signal source at one input, say A or Ch1, will be split and available to the other input, say B or Ch2; one less wire to worry about. A stereo amp becomes two mono amps from a single mono source.
