Amplifier recommendation dual opposed subwoofer

Hi there,
I have a question and need advice. I am upgrading a dual opposed subwoofer with 2x 600w @ 4 ohm JL audio subwoofers. I have 2 dual opposed subwoofers (4 drivers total) I am planning to upgrade to an external amp. When I connect the 2 subwoofers it will become 2 ohm at 1200 watt correct? Would a Crown XLS 2002 be good to feed 1 of each channels @ 2 ohm 1050 watts to each dual opposed subwoofers.
Or is a serial connection better and get 2 x crown 1502 in bridgemode feeding dual opposed in serial at 1050W at 8 ohm. This option is more expensive.
I hope you can give me some advice or recommendation thank you in advance.
