Xti 2002 Audio Architect Problems

I recently bought a Xti 2002 and I am having a terrible time connecting to it to configure the DSP.

When I run Audio Architect with it connected to my PC via USB it shows up as discovered, but there is a lock symbol next to it and an "L" towards the right of the name. I can't connect to it. Double clicking or right clicking doesn't do anything. I assume it is locked. Based on what little info I can find I thought I should update firmware, but the status shows locked and it won't let me factory reset it or update the firmware.

It works to play music, but I bought it for the DSP and if I can't connect to it, I don't see the point in having paid more for this variety of amp. I have tried both version 2.55 and version 1.96 of Audio Architect

Any advice? So far I am pretty disappointed with this thing. I thought going Crown over something like a Behringer would save me from this sort of trouble.
