Optimal use of 2 cabinets with different Ohm

Hi all, I have a Crown XLS 1500 I power my bass rig with. I've been trying a different set of speakers (Bag End) with 1 cabinet 4 ohm and the other 8 ohm. Is there any preferable way to run them, eg parallel at 2.6 Ohm out of 1 channel of the amp or use a separate amp channel for each. Is there an optimal way or does it really matter at all? Thanks.

  • Hi,
It doesn't make much of a difference as long as you do not use the individual amp channels for any processing. If you change EQ etc. on a processor before the Amp and the same signal is fed to both channels, then its Ok to use cabinets on both channels.
