My complaints after recent firmware update
Very disappointed in JBL. I have not been able to use my expensive speakers for almost 2 weeks now after the recent firmware update. Every chance I get to call tech support, they are closed. When I first spoke to tech support, they said the issues I was having was bugs in the new update. That in a week there should be a new update and to wait for it. Unacceptable! They worked great for years until this recent update. My issues I am having are:
- Connection with Bluetooth skips/studders is unusable! Only input I use and have used for years.
- Bluetooth connection does not auto connect like it used to
- Had an issue with uneven volume on either left or right while trying to use TWS. Would have a good connection for a few seconds and then one side would drop volume
- Cahnnel 5 (Bluetooth input) is now main volume on my devices. It used to control the main output volume not just channel 5 output. Not happy with this change! I used to be able to adjust the volume on my iPad, or phone, and it would adjust the main out. I would be able to set the output of channel 5 and leave it that way.
- The biggest problem is when I shut down and turn off speakers. I close all running apps (JBL pro connect app, pandora app, or Sirius/XM app) Then I power down the speakers. When I power back up and try and start JBL pro connect app, it doesn't load and all I have is a black screen on my iPad. I have to restart my iPad for the app to work again. Very frustrating.
I have tried factory resets and making sure that I have most current firmware updates and forgetting Bluetooth connections. Same problems every time! I paid a lot for these speakers, and I am pissed off and frustrated. They are unusable in this state! I had no choice but to update the firmware, and now I am stuck with junk! Very busy business owner, and not happy with customer support times either! This is my last attempt to get a solution before I start bad mouthing JBL online! 3k in speakers that I can't use after years of great use!
My Gear is: Set of 2 JBL EON ONE MK2's. Typically set up with just a Bluetooth connection to my iPad pro and running on TWS. Firmware 5.3.1.0
Re: JBL Do something about this bad firmware update you gave us!
I did the same. Updated the firmware and now no FX. I have to this fixed before Thursday.
JBL Do something about this bad firmware update you gave us!
I know JBL company wouldn't usually release a bug into our Pro gear, would they? I called support, and they have no timeline as to when they will fix this. The Firmware update YOU forced me to update for my JBL PRX One shut all my effects off. Now I'm scrambling for a workaround because I have a gig, and this BS is stressing me the F**k out. Get your shit together JBL!

I was just prompted to update the firmware on my PRX One 2 days ago. Upon completion I was unable to get the reverb, delay, or chorus to work. The subsynth appears to still work, but none of the other FX. Am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue?
Same issue. Called Tech Support. They said they are aware of the issue and gave me no time line as to when it is expected to be fixed. 4/14/25 I have a gig in 2 days. I thought I was doing the right thing by updating it, as I have had issues re-connecting before and I didn't want a problem before the show. WELL NOW, that went great, didn't it?
Re: JBL PRX One
Hello
I received a message in the JBL Pro Connect app to upgrade firmware. I upgraded both of my JBL PRX One speakers to version 5.3.7.0. After the upgrade, I have no effect on both speakers. Before the upgrade, there was an effect. Resetting to factory settings did not help either.
Do you know of any problems with the upgrade? Can I get help or direction to solve the problem?
Thank you
Shay
Re: JBL Pro Connect v2.3 Launch Date
I'm wondering the same thing! Version 2.3 was supposed to be released on March 25, 2025.
Any news?
