Lexicon Audio interface suddenly starts stuttering, and failing

Youre recording, then suddenly...d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d-d......
like talking through a fan
I end up having to go into the software (reason 11, by reason studios) and reselect the lexicon, and it starts working again.

ALSO, if the computer sits idol, and goes to sleep, the lexicon will not awaken. It shuts down and I have to unglug and replug it in.

this has happened with more than one sort of Lexicon, so the brand doesnt matter.

I know you feel it does. And I can understand why you'd feel that way. But I have had 3 lexicons, and all three, do it. Different brands.

the issue is, If I hand you a brand, someone can quickly say, "well thats not a NEW one" and then close my post, with no answer. Well I got news, All products are old as soon as a new one comes out. I am saying all this to prevent those that want to speak on everything under the sun but the question itself. So a thread wont turn into a long drawn out thing with no answer, Or its closed before an answer is even given, which helps no one.

the behringer I had didnt do this, but it was mono, and I need stereo. Lexicon could do that without a giant price tag. I am using a dell computer.
If you dont like dell, that doesnt matter , as its not part of the reason, nor the topic.
if you dont enjoy my tone, this is because I want to address the common behaviors on message boards , because I actually want an answer. So when others have a similar issue, they can google it, and your site can come up with an answer. far too many times, sites that are google search ready, have the questions we want, but NO answers. I want this to be different.

So if you have had a lexicon suddenly stop working while recording, and start making noise and you had to unplug and replug it in, or reinitialize the unit within the software, how did you fix that?

This is true that the Lexicon Lambda/Alpha have the issue with not waking up with a PC coming back from the sleep mode, you will need to unplug and plug it back in. We do not have a resolution for this.

As far as the audio stuttering issue, sounds like it might be a bitrate/frequency mismatch possibly. Double check the Advanced settings under the Sounds section of windows and make sure the bitrate/frequency matches up with what the software you are using for recording.

Other than that, all Lexicon interfaces have been discontinued from production for several years now, no driver updates will be forthcoming.
