Aux levels to Daw recording

Hello, forgive me for the non technical language. I want to record my project track by track on signature 10 via aux to avoid to add the stereo mix to each intake. To manage levels after I levelled the gain trim, I have two aux gain controls. O aux on the single track and the master aux. What's the best? Maximum gain on the track aux and master the daw levels with the signature aux mst? Hope this makes sense to read. Thanxs
