How to record from mixer into the phone

Hi was wondering if anyone can tell me how u can record straight into my phone from the monitor out or headphone out on a efx8 mixer?
I have all the right leads connections but have tryed everything and can't get it to record into phone.
It is working from record out but I have no control over this.
Also if I run a speaker from monitor or headphone out it works perfect
