iMac audio input

I am sure this has been talked about somewhere, but I couldn't find it.

We are live streaming our services and would like to connect our SI Compact to our new iMac. Previously, we were using an output from mix 1(so the live stream can be mixed separately) and connecting to our Mac Mini through a 3.5mm jack (the older Macs had and input and an output. The new iMacs have only one 3.5mm jack and we use it for output.

We tried to connect to the iMac via USB but this connection seems to be unmixed (used for mixing software).

Is there a way to connect to our iMac via USB simply as an output of mix 1?
